Newsletter: Hengtai Aipu New Technology Helps CNOOC to Hit Lingshui 17-2 High Yield Atmospheric Field

At the end of 2011, Hengtai Aipu and CNOOC Zhanjiang Branch signed a three-year project contract for "Research on Geophysical Characteristics and Reservoir Prediction Technology in Lingshui 22-1 3D Zone. After a year, the project team has fully studied the 100km2 test block, and finally established a set of geophysical identification and oil and gas prediction methods applicable to the clastic reservoir in the deep water area of the northern South China Sea. In 2013, the technical method was widely used in 1000km2 Lingshui 22-1 area, and the research results were highly recognized by Party A. Party A referred to the various geophysical attribute data provided by the project team for the design of Lingshui.

Party A conducted well location demonstration on the designed Lingshui 17-2-1,17-2-2,17-2-3,17-2-4,17-2-5, etc. with reference to various geophysical attribute data provided by the project team.

On August 18, 2014, Lingshui 17-2-1 well tested and obtained high-yield oil and gas flow. The daily production of natural gas tested was 56.5 million cubic feet, equivalent to 9400 barrels of oil equivalent. Lingshui 17-2 gas field set the highest daily production record of CNOOC's self-operated gas well test.

In the research process of Lingshui project, our company makes full use of the software technology characteristics of the company's independent intellectual property rights, solves the unique technical problems of deep-water well-free area such as seawater compaction one by one, and constantly adjusts the inversion scheme according to the geological characteristics, which finally provides strong technical support for the discovery of Lingshui deep-water gas field and the creation of a new situation of oil and gas exploration in the vast deep-water area in the northern South China Sea.

The successful application of the research results of the Lingshui project is the crystallization of the team's wisdom and another example of Hengtai Aipu's technical strength.
