Island country beautiful scenery, rich oil and gas assets

Tedo is located in the southern part of the Caribbean Sea in Central America, close to the sea off Venezuela. It is a low-latitude tropical region with a tropical maritime climate. The temperature is between 20 and 34°C all year round. Its land area is about 5128 square kilometers, the island has the world's largest asphalt lake-Pitch Lake asphalt lake.

Tedo is rich in oil and natural gas resources, mainly concentrated in the central and southern regions. Among them, the natural asphalt lake covers an area of 41 hectares, with proven asphalt reserves of 1000-15 million tons, recoverable natural gas reserves of 102000 cubic feet, and oil reserves of 0.2 billion barrels. With great development potential, it is an important oil producing country in the Caribbean. The energy industry, which focuses on energy extraction and processing, is the pillar industry of its national economy. According to statistics, the GDP of Toto in 2022 is 29.34 billion US dollars, and the per capita GDP is 22,259 US dollars.

RRTL, a subsidiary of Hengtai Aipu, is located in Siparia City and has a comprehensive oil field base integrating office, storage and crude oil processing. It has three oil field blocks with a total area of 17,300 acres (about 71 square kilometers) of Morne Diable(MD), South Quarry(SQ) and Beach Marcelle(BM) on the southern coast of Trinidad, with 85 wells and an average daily oil production of 393 barrels.

Relying on the core technology, the development of fruitful results

Since the formal takeover in 2020, the group's expert team has made careful deployment. Relying on the core technical achievements in structure and reservoir research, the group has carried out comprehensive experimental research including seismic, geological and reservoir research on the three oil fields and made major breakthroughs. Among them, the two development wells deployed in NE were successfully drilled to structurally favorable positions (GY681, GY684), realizing self-injection at the beginning of 3 years, with an average daily oil production of 170 barrels, and then turning to machine mining. Up to now, the cumulative production of double wells can reach 120000 barrels, which is the most successful drilling in BM and adjacent blocks in the past 10 years.

In view of the low output of oil field development, the team systematically investigated and accurately analyzed, and put forward effective solutions such as water injection development and the construction of a joint injection and production system in multi-well areas, making the oil field under RRTL's jurisdiction the first block to successfully realize water injection development, with remarkable results. Among them, well GY337 successfully increased from less than 10 barrels per day to 46 barrels per day and 65 barrels per day after water injection, with sufficient energy.

During the development period, the team actively restored the production capacity of old wells and resumed production of more than 30 old wells, with remarkable results. Among them, GY327 and GY328 wells have been shut down for many years, and after the resumption of production, a single well produces more than 40 barrels per day, regaining vitality.

Condensing the heart to overcome the difficulties, reorganize the vitality

Affected by the epidemic, oil field development and production encountered a series of problems, RRTL General Manager Liu Suigang led the team to meet the difficulties, forge ahead, in the premise of ensuring the safety of personnel to maintain production to the maximum extent, successfully avoiding a major impact on oil field operations.

The number of old wells in the block oil field is as high as 660. Faced with the series of problems brought by it, Liu Suigang led the team to collect and analyze the historical data of the old wells, and actively solved the existing problems such as sand production, oil pipe leakage, pump blockage, underground energy deficit, etc. Through sand fishing, existing produced water re-injection, oil fishing and other methods, the resumption and production of the old wells were effectively realized, and the number of wells opened increased steadily from 58 during the epidemic to 85, production increased from 230 barrels to 393 barrels per day.

Steady progress of measures, significant results in increasing production

At present, on the basis of the policies that have been adopted, the team continues to promote the fine development of the oil field, continuously optimize the deployment plan and construction structure of production capacity construction, and increase the production of single wells and new wells to ensure economic and effective. For the old well, the team will deeply tap the potential of the old well from four aspects: sand control, sand stabilization and sand control, improvement of water injection effect, gas lift and solution of water plugging, so as to promote efficient and orderly management of the old well, realize oil inflow and retreat, and fully improve the contribution rate of the old well. At the same time, efforts will be made to deploy new wells. The team plans to start drilling in MD block in September 2023 to further improve the recovery rate by promoting the construction of new production capacity.

New expedition, new exploration, establishment of land-based large gas field

Tedo has abundant marine and terrestrial natural gas resources and is the sixth largest exporter of natural gas and LNG in the world. SHELL and other companies have achieved remarkable success in offshore natural gas development. As all of its offshore gas production is exported, in order to meet the domestic demand for natural gas, the Government of Trinidad and the Ministry of Energy attaches great importance to the exploration and development of its domestic onshore gas fields.

At present, the expert team has discovered natural gas in the deep layers of MD oil field and BM oil field, which has the resource conditions for exploration and development of natural gas, of which MD oil field is the most. The QUINAM32 well in MD Oilfield encountered a 15-meter gas layer in a 6000ft deep gas reservoir (Lower Cruse gas reservoir) with a bottom hole pressure of 34MP. The well produced 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas during the 22 years from 1969 to 1991, with an average daily production of 140000 cubic meters per well, which is another proof that MD Oilfield has large gas field potential.

Therefore, promoting the development of deep gas reservoirs in MD oilfield and establishing a large onshore gas field will be another strong value-added highlight of the Group. In the next step, the team plans to carry out a series of development and economic evaluation work around the deep gas reservoir in MD oilfield.

Wang Lifei pointed out that oil is "the blood of industry" and is the world's major energy and chemical raw materials. As a high-tech, collectivized, international high-end equipment manufacturer and integrated energy service provider, the oil field is an important asset reserve of Hengtai Aipu. Changing the concept, innovating management, upgrading technology and promoting the "high-quality" development of oilfields are the necessary ways for Hengtai Aipu to increase oilfield production and enhance economic benefits.

Wang Lifei stressed that in the face of the new challenges brought about by the changes in the international market environment, the group should work steadily, activate the potential of old wells, improve quality and efficiency, and do a good job in resuming production of old wells. At the same time, we should accurately implement policies, tap potential oil and gas resources, do a good job in drilling new wells and oil field development, reduce costs and increase efficiency, so as to promote the realization of major breakthroughs and leapfrog development of the group's oil and gas exploration and development.
