Newsletter: OGADEN Block Project Passed Acceptance
2019-01-02
The project of comprehensive geological research in OGADEN block of SOUTH WEST ENERGY Petroleum Company of Ethiopia undertaken by Hengtai Aipu Company passed the acceptance smoothly on September 5.
Ethiopia's petroleum exploration and development as a whole is at an early stage. During the research process of the project, colleagues from the African project team of the Houston subsidiary overcame the practical difficulties of poor seismic data and serious lack of drilling geological background data, established a regional tectonic sedimentary model and reservoir-forming combination, and finally implemented the structure and optimized the target design well location. What is more gratifying is that the project has made a breakthrough in understanding the basin analysis, tectonic development and sedimentary model, and has depicted considerable reserves of resources for drilling.
Mr. Girmachew Tefera, Exploration Manager of SOUTH WEST ENERGY, said that the entire SWE Exploration Department was encouraged by the research results and appreciated the efficiency, execution and professionalism of the LandOcean team. Through the cooperation of this project, SOUTH WEST ENERGY Company has fully recognized the professional strength of Hengtai Aipu Company and has decided to hand over the comprehensive evaluation project of Gambella Basin to our company. This provides a good basis for the establishment of a long-term and strategic cooperative relationship between the two sides.
Here, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you and all parties who have given us great help, and congratulations to the members of the project team!
