Newsletter: Congratulations to Dr. Ren Yuze of Hengtai Aipu Enterprise Postdoctoral Workstation for Successfully Passed the Outbound Defense

2018-11-14

Recently, the post-doctoral workstation of Hengtai Aipu Enterprise held a "post-doctoral exit defense meeting". Dr. Ren Yuze made an exit report and successfully passed the defense. Dr. Ren Yuze systematically summarized the current situation of deep-water subsalt exploration in West Africa at home and abroad, made a more comprehensive analysis of the structural characteristics of salt-bearing basins in the middle of West Africa, and conducted a more in-depth study of the sedimentary facies belts of the three salt-bearing basins. The tectonic pattern of the salt-bearing basins in the middle of West Africa: the Kwanza Basin, the Lower Congo Basin, and the Gabon Basin is analyzed, and it is believed that it has the characteristics of the east-west zone, the tectonic unit of the basin is divided, and the Mesozoic is divided into two structures.

The structural pattern of the salt-bearing basins in the middle of West Africa: the Kwanza Basin, the Lower Congo Basin, and the Gabon Basin is analyzed, and it is believed that it has the characteristics of the east-west zone, the structural unit of the basin is divided, and the Mesozoic is divided into two structural layers and five tectonic evolution stages. The types of sedimentary systems and their distribution patterns in the rift and depression periods of each basin are analyzed, and the control of tectonic evolution on the sedimentary filling sequence is revealed. Based on the combination of tectonic and sedimentary facies, the distribution characteristics of the favorable reservoir facies zone in the salt-bearing basin of central West Africa are discussed, which provides guidance and suggestions for CNOOC International to carry out subsequent exploration work in West Africa.

The above research results have been recognized by the review experts, and the jury unanimously agreed that Dr. Ren Yuze's outbound report met the post-doctoral outbound requirements and agreed to exit.

The review experts participating in the defense meeting include Professor Yu Bingsong, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) Cooperation Tutor, Professor Ding Wenlong, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Professor Deng Hongwen, Hengtai Aipu Enterprise Cooperation Tutor, Zhang Zhilang, Hengtai Aipu Enterprise Cooperation Tutor, Professor Tang Chengfeng, General Manager of Hengtai Aipu, and Ma Ningning, Manager of Hengtai Aipu Human Resources and Legal Affairs Department.

Dr. Ren Yuze is the sixth postdoctoral from Hengtai Aipu postdoctoral workstation and will continue to work in Hengtai Aipu Company after leaving the station.
